I was very fortunate when I worked at Union Standard. They had 32 people working in the shops, but I was the only PLC guy they had who had hands on experience with advanced electric systems. Because of that I had the greatest exposure to widest range of equipment out of any staff member and I was given many interesting machine rebuild projects to bring to completion. Here you can see 2 complex tablet press rebuild projects I brought to completion.
1) The Killian RX 67 with electronic strain gauge force feedback system to maintain correct punch pressure
2) The Fette Perfecta 2000, which had to have all new electric system built for it. I designed a compact new system housed in a tiny swing out cabinet.
