The Fette tablet press rebuild project proved to be very much fun and interesting for me because on every job I do I task myself with the question how can I do it better? In this case the original machine came with a separate electric cabinet that was connected to it by many cables that would have to lie on the floor (a tripping hazard). We had gotten the schematics with this machine and I studied them at length to determine my angle of attack for this project. Although the original electric system was gigantic, it was really very simple at its core. I decided that by using the relay technology of today I could design and build a much smaller system that could be built into a small swing out front mounted electric cabinet. The swing out cabinet would facilitate access to the hydraulics for servicing while keeping the electrics as a part of the machine. I did accomplish this goal with great success and you can see it in the slide show. In case you have not read it the Killian RX-67 tablet press rebuild project has a full explanation of how tablet presses work.
