James Bond in Gold Finger Circa 1964 then in Live & Let Die 1973

The James Bond movies did catch my fancy when I was growing up. I liked the movies, I liked the plots, but what I liked the best of course were the gadgets, especially the cars. There were many different cars used in the Bond movies, but my two favorites were the Aston Martin DB5 used in Goldfinger, and the white Lotus Espirit used in the movie Live and Let Die. The Aston Martin had pop out machine guns in the front, a pop up rear bullet proof shield, an ejector seat, and axle mounted blades that could be extended out to cut the tires of passing cars, also an oil slick spray that shot out the back. I watched Jame Bond use all of these things in the movies and I thought it was really cool. After watching the Goldfinger movie I started to draw all kinds of cars with gadgets built in. My mom also bought me the Corgi brand miniature of the Aston Martin DB5. It was fun to play with.

In my early teenage years the next Bond Car that caught my fancy was the Lotus Espirit S2 in the Movie Live and let die. This car had a very sleek exotic shape and it turned into a submarine too. How's that for a WOW!
