The HP 6350 scanner burned out. HP offered me a scanjet 8250 to replace it. I also bought an EPSON Model 4870 scanner to scan large size negatives.

Because the HP 6350 was no longer a supported product and they had no repair parts for it, HP offered to let me chose a replacement from a few different models. I really did not use the ADF or the Transparncy adapter. So I settled on the basic model 8250 scanner because it had a glass area big enough to scan legal size documents. I had a few papers that size I had wanted to scan and this machine would let me do that. I also had alot of negatives from my days as the school photographer at Rutherford High School. These negatives were large 6 x 7 cm or (2&1/4 x 3&1/4 inches) in size. Film scanners for negatives that size cost a lot of money and were out of my price range. Then I read good reviews on the Epson 4870's performance on scanning slides and negatives. So I bought one and scanned in all of my large format negatives. Now everything from my life has been digitized, but how do I display all the good stuff? The answer is: This web site. Creating this site was another steep learning curve I had to climb. None of those click and build programs gave me what I wanted. So I finally had to teach myself how to use Macromedia's Dreamweaver program. This enitire site was built using Studio MX 2004 and revised with Macromedia Studio 8. Adobe took over Macromedia in a buyout in mid 2005. I hope they keep the Dreamweaver Suite alive, because I tried using Adobe's site creator program called Go Live and I did not like it all.
