More Training courses attended and other activites engaged in to enhance my knowledge for use on the job.
Note: I am a person that has to feel like he is moving forward all the time. That means I have to a constant input stream of new knowledge. When my company doesn't send me to training I send myself. I never sit around and watch TV so school is a good way to fill up my free time.
At this point in my career I knew first hand that an extensive, diversified, up to date, and current education in relevant subjects, was a valuable asset tho have both on the job and off. Besides that I just simply enjoy learning new things and then applying the knowledge for my own purposes. Building my own Inground swimming pool is one example. Below are more courses I took to help myself do better on the job or to satisfy my curiosity about a particular subject.

Because customer requirements fluctuate widely on my job, I am working under high pressure almost all of the time to adapt to these changes. For the sake of expediency more than 75% of my new designs involve purchasing existing products and then adapting them for our use. All though I am capable of designing and building a solution to meet a requirement it is much faster to buy something off the shelf and adapt it to our needs on the job. This is where my business training comes in. Most of my new designs start out with intelligent purchasing. What I do is use the Internet and the phones to find products that get us to within 90% of the objective. Then once we get the products in house I take it the rest of the way with my own handywork.
