Foley Belsaw Institute of Kansas Clty MO.

This was the 4th and last correspondence course I took. At this point in my career I was working in many of the largest Post Office buildings in the USA. These buildings had many interior and exterior doors each with their own lock. Many of the doors were master keyed and these locks needed maintenance. I had craft employees under my suprevision skilled in this area to do this work, but I wanted to understand the problems from their point of view. So I took this course to build the knowledge base that would allow me to do that. I thought the course was quite good. I got to learn the basics about many types of common locks and their inner workings. This reminded me of the time I studied camera repair by mail because Foley would send me sample locks to work on along with the tools needed to do the work. Once you progressed far enough in the course you would also get a key making machine as part of the package. I never got that far though other things in my life took priority and the course fell by the wayside. I did get bonded by the National Locksmith Association.
