Batman the Television Show Jan 12 1966 to March 14 1968
My mom had been buying me comic books since I was a child. My favorites were the DC brand of comics. To me their characters were
much lighter, with fewer dark and gloomy shadows like the scenes I saw in Marvel comics. Two of my favorites were Superman and Batman.
Of these two Batman was my favorite because he seemed more possible. Here was an ordinary guy whose super powers were not really very
super at all. Instead his powers were amplified by all kinds of exotic high tech gadgets. These intrigued me because I thought they
were entirely plausible. I used to draw many pictures of Batman and his Bat Gadgets when I was a kid. (See the thumbnail on the right).
Trying to imagine in my mind how Batman's gadgets and devices worked, caused me to achieve extreme levels of detail in my early childhood drawings, and trying to visualize the internal workings of Batman's devices and gadgets inspired me to think more creatively and draw better.
