1976-1978 Professional Camera Repair Inc.

At the time this was the top camera repair shop in the USA for all professional grade still photography cameras. It was located right in the heart of the Diamond District in New York City at 37 West 47th Street. All the big name photographers sent their cameras here for repair. Customers would wait on long lines to get in to this place just so they could say they had their camera tuned up here. This shop was also the subject of many articles in Modern and Popular Photography magazines. I started out there as an apprentice repairing lenses. I moved up and learned to repair Nikon, Minolta, Olympus, Leica, Mamiya, Rollei, Yashica, Cannon, & Hasselblad cameras. I also designed and built some camera modifications. I could see that cameras were starting to have more and more electronic content so I chose to take a correspondence course in electronics to prepare myself for this growing trend. Within a short time I became so taken with electronics I wanted to work with this technology full time instead. So I left to go to a job with more hands on electronics
